Its design shares many features with that of the real RX-7, even down to the engine bay, which depicts a rotary engine. Similar to its appearance in GTA San Andreas, the car is primarily based on the third-generation Mazda RX-7 (FD). The vehicle returns to Grand Theft Auto Online as the ZR350 (without the hyphen), being manufactured by Annis.
The ZR-350 is strongly based on the third-generation Mazda RX-7 (FD), albeit longer and bearing the tail lights of a second-generation Nissan 240SX (S14), only much bigger.
